As Spring/Summer 2017 would’ve had it, it seems like athleisure is still a big trend that’s being fed by fashion’s big names such as Vetements. We’re always happy when our clothes manage double duty — the added convenience of not having to bring extra clothes for your workout at the end of a long day is definitely a plus.

Originally created by French label Le Coq Sportif in 1920 to keep athletes warm as they exercise, track pants quickly gained a following for their versatility and comfort at the gym. Besides increasing body temperature (which burns a negligible amount of extra calories, but we’re not complaining), track pants help wick sweat away to keep you cool and dry, while protecting your skin from the damaging sun should you take your workout outdoors.

Equal parts comfortable and stylish, track pants are now not only made for the gym, but also on the streets. Designers such as Alexander Wang and Virgil Abloh have put their twists on it, giving the quintessential chill-wear a high fashion makeover that still fits into your workout routine.

From Wang’s much hyped about collaboration with Adidas to Vetements’ with Champion, here are 5 track pants that will be equally at home at your next workout, and at your next night out.

1
Adidas Originals by Alexander Wang InOut track pants

Trust Alexander Wang to make an ordinary pair of black track pants look street-worthy. His latest collaboration with Adidas sees a brushed cotton-fleece version that’s designed to look inside out. Coupled with a ribbed drawstring waistband, this pair can be worn for a night out after a light gym session.

Bassike stretch tapered track pants

Known for its organic cotton basics, Australian label Bassike translates its easy-to-wear aesthetic onto track pants. This cropped and tapered pair is spun from soft cotton-blend jersey and a contrasting rope drawcord that allows you to alternate between wearing it high or low on the waist.

3
Burberry appliquéd wool-blend track pants

In a soft, decadent blend of wool and cashmere, we can only imagine lounging by the fireplace after a day’s worth of skiing in the Alps. This grey version by Burberry sits high on the waist, and is furnished with intarsia checks by the side and an appliqué inspired by one of English artist Henry Moore’s works. The latter is a motif that runs through the entire season.

4
Vetements x Champion logo printed track pants

Perhaps the most highly photographed pair of track pants of 2017, Vetements’ collaboration with Champion sees the classic tracksuit get reinvented with a more tapered silhouette and elasticated cuffs. The cotton-blend composition ensures your pants keep their shape while being ultra soft. However, like all things Vetements, you’re going to have to work fast to get your hands on a pair.

LNDR Recovery track pants

Tailored with side seams that are sewn flat to reduce chaffing, LNDR’s Recovery track pants are designed to be as comfortable during your workout as they are when you’re on-the-go. This trusty slim mid-rise style is made from a slinky stretch jersey which ensures it doesn’t lose its shape after repeated use. The highlight of this pair, however, is the contrasting retro-inspired cuffs that lend it a bit of character.
