Christmas is looking a little different this year, but don’t let the troubles of 2020 diminish your festive spirit.
You can still count on enjoying all your holiday traditions: the heartwarming exchange of gifts, sharing a delicious feast with your family, and dressing up in your Christmas best. They’ll be even more special if you head to Palais Renaissance, Orchard’s one-stop destination for all things stylish and sophisticated.
This December, Palais Renaissance promises a line-up of offerings specially tailored for the season. You can treat yourself or a loved one to a relaxing facial treatment, break bread at a fancy French café, or spoil yourself with the finest threads by luxury fashion labels from Japan, London, Paris and more.
In fact, all of that doesn’t sound too far from the holiday plans that Hannah Bradshaw has made. You may know her as the younger sister of Aimee Cheng-Bradshaw, but Hannah is a rising model of her own right. Below, she shares with us what makes the perfect Christmas — and how Palais Renaissance fits right in the picture.
Get the perfect presents
“My favourite memory is waking up on Christmas Day to Christmas music,” says Hannah. “When we were younger, that was our parents’ cue for my sisters and I to come downstairs and see what presents Santa had left for us! I always remember it being the happiest morning of the year.”
You can find some of that festive cheer at Merci Marcel (#1-03/04), the beloved French concept store with a tropical flavour. It boasts a vast retail space, where you can find an array of lifestyle products from Paris, Morocco, Israel, Ghana and more — all without travelling. Each one is artisanally crafted and environmentally-friendly, making for a one-of-a-kind gift to present to your loved ones on Christmas morning.
Feast with the family
“Christmas is the perfect time for family to get together, but it’s also a time to indulge and overeat with those loved ones!” shares Hannah. “As a foodie at heart, this is something I truly cherish.” She’ll definitely cherish the time spent at Merci Marcel, which doubles as a café — and a very stylish one, at that.
Among vintage European furniture and island-inspired touches like suspended vines and rattan chairs, you and your family can dine on the dishes that are exclusive to Palais Renaissance flagship. Think the Tarte Flambée, jazzed up with hearty servings of reblonchon cheese and smoked duck breast slices atop thin-rolled, oven-baked bread dough. Or the Ravioles de Royans, Palais, Merci Marcel’s signature French dumping pasta made with a special frothy foie fras emulsion.
Top it all off with one of the lovely organic wines offered (there’s a whole wall of French Rosé bottles to choose from at the lounge) or select a sweet treat from the delectable dessert menu, which includes Crème Brûlée, Pineapple Capaccio and Crêpe Marcel.
Be dressed to the nines
At Palais Renaissance, you’ll find plenty of options to pick your party outfit from. You could try Maria Grachvogel (#01-07A), the London fashion label that has found fans in Victoria Beckham and Kelly Rowland. There, you’ll find all things refined and modern, such as the Ceto Blouse that Hannah wears above.
Like everything else Maria Grachvogel offers, the top is versatile, featuring a necktie that can be worn as it is or styled as a bow. Pair them with the brand’s bestselling Magic Trousers (also worn by Hannah) and you’ll have a look that’s as effortless as it is elegant.
If your taste leans towards the East, head to Patch Magic (#03-05). There, exquisite handcrafted kimono fabrics have been repurposed and transformed into clothing and accessories, including silk scarves and masks. They’ll definitely add an unexpected Japanese twist to your holiday look.
Want to take your style a step further? Belle & Tulle Bridal (#03-12/13) is your best bet. The boutique has a panoply of beautiful designer gowns to choose from, created by the likes of Berta, Romona Keveza, Zuhair Murad, Viktor & Rolf and more. You’ll definitely find something that suits the festive season, such as the Romona Keveza one shoulder crepe dress that Hannah wears above. Belle & Tulle Bridal also has the accessories to match, so you can show up to your Christmas date looking like a very pretty picture.
Pamper yourself with a little R&R
“Presents that you can never go wrong with are gift cards, homemade baked goods, candles or anything centered around relaxation,” says Hannah. You’ll find plenty of relaxation to do at Self Aesthetics Medical Clinic (#03-10/11). Specialising in countless rejuvenating facial treatments, the clinic is the perfect spot to take your best friend to and treat yourselves.
We recommend the Bespoke Quintessential Facial, which restores your skin to its naturally radiant and healthy state, or the Hydro Glow Facial, which revives your skin with a vitamin-rich treatment that leaves your face soft and supple. The best part? Self Aesthetics Medical Clinic is now offering all its treatments at a 20 per cent discount.
Alternatively, you could make a stop at Privé Clinic (#03-02/03), where their signature Exilis Elite Facelift will transform your facial features, jawline and eye contours with sculpted definition — all within a soothing session that feels just like a massage.
If it’s your hair that needs a little love, head to Leonica K Trichology (#03-08/09). The trichology centre, which boasts 20 years of expertise, provides hair treatments that are tailored to your tresses, alongside a wealth of luxurious, plant-based hair care products like shampoos and hair masks. Either way, you’ll leave looking and feeling your best — isn’t that all you could ask for this holiday?
