Make this Christmas an extra special one with Palais Renaissance’s festive offerings

Christmas is a time for joy and giving but it can also be a notoriously stressful affair, whether you’re searching for the perfect gift, looking to savour the finer things in life, or seeking the perfect party outfit.

Instead of scouring the entire Orchard Road looking to check all your boxes, head over to Palais Renaissance, where a remarkable selection of restaurants, fashion labels, and beauty and wellness establishments await. After all, the posh shopping destination is well-versed in the art of luxury living, and offers a sophisticated respite amidst the bustle of the city.

From the best eats and most pampering wellness treatments, to the trendiest fashion labels, here’s how you can get Christmas-ready in the most indulgent way possible at Palais Renaissance.

Connoisseurs and lovers of prime Japanese Wagyu beef would’ve surely already heard of the latest concept in Japanese Yakiniku dining that recently debuted at Palais Renaissance.

Shatoburian Yakiniku’s extensive menu features prime cuts of Japanese Wagyu beef and fresh seasonal ingredients from both Japan and abroad to give its dishes a modern twist. This means that diners will have the opportunity to savour delicacies that range from caviar and foie gras, to high-end truffles such as French Périgord, Alba White, and Manjumup Black.

As a sustainable restaurant, Shatoburian imports the entire Wagyu cattle with a nose-to-tail approach, which allows diners to sample a wide selection of cuts that are otherwise not available elsewhere.

Ishinomaki Grill & Sake Bar

Inspired by its namesake, a large port city east of Sendai in Miyagi Prefecture, Ishinomaki Grill & Sake Bar prides itself on serving up the freshest seafood from the quiet little coastal city. Alongside a curated premium sake list, the establishment also offers an extensive menu that includes sashimi, sushi, noodles, and robatayaki, the latter of which is known to be an authentic interpretation of the Japanese dish.

Some must-try dishes of the season include the Chirashi Don — which sees a wholesome assortment of fresh sashimi served on sushi rice with miso soup — as well as the Unagi Avocado Foie Gras Roll. The Wagyu Foie Gras Mille-Feuille is a cheeky spin on the classic French dessert, and sees a pan-fried Wagyu steak layered over foie gras, before being drizzled with teriyaki sauce.

Wholesome Savour

Switching to a plant-based diet doesn’t have to mean tasteless, uninspiring food, and Wholesome Savour is testament to that. The plant-based therapeutic food company champions the concept of functional food meals by designing food programs based on the zero-tolerance principle, which maximises the optimal absorption of nutrients.

Before the festive binging begins, treat your body to Wholesome Savour’s menu of nutritious dishes, which prevent blood sugar spikes and does not contain gluten, trans-fat, GMO, additives, dairy, cholesterol and preservatives. The Dehydrated Chips is a dish that’s not only an immunity booster but also an antioxidant powerhouse that offers the same satisfaction of a snack sans the guilt. The Zucchini Noodle Carbonara is another healthy take on an Italian favourite, and sees zucchini noodles tossed with a special cashew carbonara sauce and coconut bacon.

Asian dishes are also given a nourishing spin here; the Miss Saigon is a mango coconut wrap that’s served with lettuce, shredded vegetables and spicy almond dip for that extra kick. If you’re looking to go local, the Fishless Otah Nasi Lemak and Fishless Yong Tau Foo Noodles are great options that incorporates Mycoprotein in place of meat.

The last thing you need to worry about before that big dinner is not looking your best. Self Aesthetics Medical Clinic is specialised in enhancing natural features and reversing the signs of ageing with state-of-the-art and personalised aesthetic & wellness solutions.

Of the many facial rejuvenation treatments here, the Rejuran Healer is one of the most popular options for reversing the signs of ageing via an injectable polynucleotide (PN) skin booster. The non-invasive treatment contains DNA fragments that repair damaged skin cells while assisting in collagen stimulation. Meanwhile, the Pico Laser Treatment utilises cutting-edge technology to target different concerns such as sunspots, and acne scarring, with much less downtime than traditional lasers.

Shave years off your face with the High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU Facelift). The non-invasive treatment goes deep inside the skin to tighten and lift the skin using ultrasound energy while inciting collagen growth.

Patch Magic

Driven by the grace and beauty of the traditional Japanese garment, Akiko Silva started breathing new life into old kimono fabrics that were too beautiful to dispose of by incorporating them into new pieces of clothing for Patch Magic.

Today, the charming boutique continues to be a celebration of revered Japanese craftsmanship and techniques. Silk and vintage materials are hand-dyed here using the centuries-old Katazome technique, which have been passed down for generations by master craftsmen.

These are then combined with the delicate silk kimono fabrics to become contemporary, easy-to-wear pieces that are as unique as they are intricate. It’s never been easier to stand out at festive dinner parties.

Maria Grachvogel

Maria Grachvogel’s Tierra encapsulates our connection to the Earth and its fragile nature. Journey into colour and print, where artful geometric cuts and refined silk detailing embrace this season and beyond. Tierra celebrates the female form and embraces the ever-evolving Maria Grachvogel brand, with garments that deliver functionality, transformability and longevity through masterfully cut and versatile creations.

Crafted in the label’s signature Satin Back Crepe, the Arden jumpsuit — in Bone or Damson — easily takes you from day to night with its softly draped tuxedo lapel and elongating wide leg silhouette. The Arden’s flexible waistband adds comfort and ease of movement while allowing for blouson-esque styling, lending an effortless glamour to the ensemble.

The Turan sleeveless top is another Maria Grachvogel essential. Cut tuxedo-style in Italian crepe, the chic separate has been masterfully draped to cascade into a long, flowing hem that moves as elegantly as you do. Pair it with Tierra’s Avalan jacket,  which is discerningly defined by its draped tuxedo lapel and satin ribboning to the arms. The Avalan is structured and sharp but almost weightless to wear, and is your go-to piece for the perfect ensemble.
