American diner Black Tap is legendary for its giant milkshakes and hefty burgers. Its extensive list of shakes can leave first-time diners a little overwhelmed, so if you need a recommendation, we suggest the Churro Choco Taco (S$24++), a decadent glass that’s dressed with a vanilla frosted rim and cinnamon toast crunch, then topped with a choco taco, two churros and a delightful dulce de leche drizzle. Pair that with any of BlackTap’s 11 burger options and you’re good to go.

If you have time for only one restaurant, make it CUT by Wolfgang Puck. The Michelin-starred restaurant is home to the best steaks in Singapore, not to mention its flawlessly executed side dishes. Apart from its mains, the cocktail menu is one that many regulars come back for time and time again — think sophisticated drinks like Rough Love (S$27++) that combine effervescent, punchy notes of Champagne with Japanese Shiso Umeshu, Tanqueray No.10 Gin, and Peach Bitters.

The swanky, unique interior accompanies the restaurant’s “many faces of Japanese cuisine,” highlighting bold and innovative creations. While many come here for their exquisite sharing-style dinner menu that’s crafted with seasonal Japanese ingredients, the lunch offerings are just as memorable; feast on the two or three-course set menus (S$48++ and S$58++ respectively), that include a range of lip-smacking, modern Japanese creations ready to satisfy any diner.
Make sure to grab a couple of drinks while you’re here too. The establishment’s handcrafted signature cocktail, Phoenix, is a refreshing pick-me-up that’s made with an invigorating blend of tequila, chili umeshu, agave nectar and lime juice.
