4 ways to rework your party dress

Now that all the parties are over, we’re all looking at our sparkly party pieces and asking ourselves the same question: What do I do with these till December 2017?

Be it sequins, glitter, or anything shimmery – these babies stuck with us through party days and nights, and deserve more than an imprisonment in the wardrobe for the next eleven months.

We’ve taken a sequined Dolce & Gabbana dress as an example on how to rework your party dress, and incorporate it into your regular wardrobe.

Here are four ways to work it:
Longline jacket
A quintessential essential in the Olsen twins’ wardrobe, the longline jacket is a highly-versatile outerwear that has proved itself through the seasons. Be it in denim or silk, this jacket is the perfect marriage between casual and formal. In this case, tone down the glitzy vibe of the dress by throwing a denim longline jacket over. Complete your look with a pair of edgy booties.

Shirt & slip-ons
Work with items you already have in your closet – a crisp white shirt, and a pair of trusty sneakers. Layer your humble staple over the dress, and knot it to secure it at the waist. Tuck the knot inwards for a cleaner look. Slip on your sneakers, and you’re good to go. People won’t even know that you’re wearing a party dress.

This is by far, the most straightforward and comfortable style to pull off. It involves your chicest sweater, a pair of shades, and slides – we’re already thinking of taking an afternoon stroll in town in these. Team them with your sparkly dress for an effortless look.

T-shirt & blazer
Need to head into the office, but can’t get over the festive season? This ensemble is for you. Layer an on-trend logo T-shirt over your party number, and throw a work-appropriate blazer over. Complete the look with a pair of elegant pumps. A fun, structured bag won’t hurt either!
