Ahead of the premiere of Kingsman: The Golden Circle on 21 September, British online retailer Mr Porter has released its second ‘costume to collection’ line for the film series. This is in collaboration with Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn and award-winning costume designer Arianne Phillips.
Apart from the impeccably-tailored suits and ties that we saw in the first collection, Kingsman x Mr Porter 2.0 sees the launch of varsity jackets by Golden Bear, denim jeans and shirts by Jean Shop, and sweatshirts from Todd Snyder. The ‘Wild Wild West’ theme is in tandem with the narrative of the second film, as it moves across the Atlantic to the United States where the agents of Kingsman meet their American counterparts, the Statesmen.
“The collection includes a contemporary take on Savile Row and traditional British tailoring alongside emblematic American inspired casualwear,” said Mr Porter’s Buying Manager, Sam Kershaw. “The Savile Row tailored suit brings a clear identity and value to the British Kingsman spies whilst the symbolic American style defines the Statesman agents.”
What’s more, fans of the film and style savants will be able to browse the collection at the very first Kingsman shop in London, located at the Berry Bros. & Rudd store on St. James Street. Paying homage to the Kingsman Headquarters as seen in the two films, customers will step into a replica of the set, with its mahogany wardrobes and taxidermied mounts. The touch-activated changing room mirrors will also display product details and styling tips based on the aforementioned collection, similar to the technologies featured in the first movie.
So get suited and booted, as there are only two weeks left till the film’s global premiere. And if you’re lacking inspiration on what to wear to the cinema, here are 5 outfits from the film that might have your fellow movie-goers mistake you for a spy.
