And they’re as Burberry as it gets: the new face masks feature the British brand’s famous Vintage check, which has graced everything from handbags to Beyoncé’s bodysuit, in the neutral hues of beige and pale blue.
The masks are made with a cotton outer layer and lining, as well as a polyester filling, all sustainably sourced from Burberry’s excess fabrics. As for functionality, Burberry’s masks are enhanced with antimicrobial technology, HeiQ Viroblock. Plus, they come with a handy travel pouch for you to stash them safely away.
And if all those details aren’t enough to entice you to get your own Burberry mask, consider this: 20 percent of the proceeds from the sale of the masks will go to the Burberry Foundation COVID-19 Community Fund.
It’s a fund established by the Burberry Foundation just this April in response the COVID-19 pandemic. Since its launch, the fund has provided much-needed PPE to healthcare workers, as well as assistance to food banks and healthcare charities around the world.
Aside from the fund, Burberry has also made donations to the COVID-19 vaccine research, on top of repurposing its UK trench coat factory to manufacture non-surgical gowns for healthcare workers — a move echoed by the likes of Prada and Zegna.
The brand’s protective face masks, available in two sizes, are now retailing for S$190. The price tag is a little hefty, but hey, it’s for a good cause. You can now get your hands on them on Burberry’s website.
