If you’ve ever wanted to experience the Loewe universe exactly as Jonathan Anderson envisioned it, you’ll soon have your chance. The Spanish luxury fashion brand is opening its first Casa Loewe store here in Singapore.
That’s the name of its concept flagship boutique, which can be found in London, Milan, Beijing and Madrid. The upcoming Casa Loewe, which will be housed in ION Orchard, will be the first to open its doors in Southeast Asia.
Like the others, Casa Loewe Singapore will fully embody the brand’s artisanal aesthetic. Creative director Jonathan Anderson will also have a hand in designing the concept store, meant to resemble the modern home of an art collector. Expect sculptures, paintings, crafted objects and furnishings, all curated or designed by Anderson with as much attention given to them as the brand’s geometric Puzzle and Gate bags.
Speaking of bags, that’s what you’ll find in the flagship, along with both Loewe men’s and women’s ready-to-wear collections. The intimate space will be the best way to explore Anderson’s designs, which are noted for their craftsmanship as much as their unexpected details.
For Spring/Summer 2021, for example, the brand offered a patchwork jacket in leather (the house’s signature fabric), tie-dyed caftans, sculptural knit pieces and a basketweave leather pineapple bag. All of this was unveiled in a box for Digital Fashion Week, if you needed any more proof of Loewe’s unconventional approach to design.
And if you don’t, look forward to the opening of Casa Loewe Singapore later this year. At present, there are few shopping experiences to get excited about. In fact, many luxury brands are now offering home shopping services for those of us wary of venturing outside during a pandemic. As a space that marries fashion, art and design, Loewe’s upcoming boutique will be that rare brick-and-mortar store worth making a trip to.
