Dior presents Dior and Rimowa Capsule Collection
Dior, together with Rimowa, presents a luxe travel collection just in time for the holiday season. To celebrate the pre-launch of the collaboration, the house hosted a cocktail evening on 24 October at Dior’s new store in Champs Elysees. The collection has an assortment of suitcases in various sizes, available in Rimowa’s signature ‘Cabin’ and ‘Trunk’ designs, alongside the ‘Hand Case’ carrier and the ‘Personal’ portable case with an additional pink colourway. Pieces are coated in silver, matte black and gradient blue, each accented with Dior’s Oblique motif.
The Dior and Rimowa capsule collection is now available Dior store on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris. It will be on view until November 13.
John Galliano extends his contract at Maison Margiela
Renowned designer John Galliano has announced that he will be staying on with Paris-based fashion house Maison Margiela, extending his contract after helming the brand for five years as its creative director. Not only did he take over the menswear, womenswear, and accessories designs during his time there, he also created its artisanal couture range, and rebranded Maison Margiela overall. Given Galliano’s impact at the maison, we can expect more from his input in the future.
Ikea X Virgil Abloh launches in Singapore
Ikea now joins the hype train with its latest Markerad Collection in collaboration with Virgil Abloh, the founder of Off-White and men’s artistic director for Louis Vuitton. This collection portrays Abloh’s quirky kitschy of style, making each piece of furniture an art piece in its own right. Among the 15 items, the most anticipated release is a low-pile rug that looks like a torn receipt from Ikea, which can be used as a floor rug or hung up as decor.
The Markerad Collection launches 1 November 2019 at all Ikea Singapore outlets.

With Balenciaga now securing second place, former head honcho Gucci falls in third place — a new plight for the Italian house since it has maintained its position in the top two in the last two years.
