Over the past few years, athleisure has ballooned from being a trend into a real sartorial genre. Clothes and brands that we’d normally associate with working out or sports have become a mainstay on the streets — an aesthetic that the latest collaboration between Every Second Counts and Kazuki Kuraishi embodies perfectly.

The UK-based Every Second Counts has been a sportswear brand in the market since 2014, and their decision to collaborate with Kuraishi is one that shows the brand embracing edginess. Kuraishi — who’s portfolio includes being the former creative director of Adidas Originals, has lent his minimalist, constructed approach to designing sportswear that can be worn both in and out of the gym for the capsule collection, which showed earlier this year at London Fashion Week.

“As a brand we’ve always looked at the whole when it comes to sportswear, it’s not just about the garments that you wear to work out in but the ones you choose to wear post gym session,” said Sally Dixon, the founder of Every Second Counts. “We started out with a lifestyle collection within our range made from non- technical fabrics like bamboo and cotton but soon saw the demand for lifestyle garments that not only look and feel good but perform as well.”

Featuring T-shirts, jackets, shorts and bags in muted colourways, the collection is designed to showcase the dual nature of athleisure while remaining extremely functional. Most of the items feature roomy pockets that allow for hands-free storage when you’re on the move, as well as fabric technology that helps to keep discomfort at bay. The baggy fit that most of the garments have also facilitate the way your body moves when in motion, while also keeping in line with the fact that oversized is a major key trend when it comes to athleisure.

The Every Second Counts x Kazuki Kuraishi capsule collection is rife with the type of understated, cool gear that we’d love to take from the town to the gym and back, and so should you.

The Every Second Counts x Kazuki Kuraishi collection is available at TripleFit, #02-63 Millenia Walk, 9 Raffles Boulevard, Singapore 039596 and online here.
