Alessandro Michele lives for idiosyncrasy and self-expression. They’re what the seminal creative director has instilled as linchpins to his ongoing Gucci revolution.
So when the first Gucci DIY (Do It Yourself) service for men’s tailoring and unisex jackets was introduced last year mid-2016 at the brand’s Milan flagship, it made sense. Customisation is an extension of what the new house codes are all about. And right in time for the festive season, Singapore, too, can get a taste of it.

From 17 November till 7 December, a dedicated area at Gucci’s Ion Orchard boutique offers personalisation services for selected men’s eveningwear, blazers, coats, as well as unisex bombers and denim jackets.
To create your own Gucci one-off piece, you can pick from an eclectic range of fabrics, buttons, and monogram lettering. Plush knitwear, reversible silk bombers and denim jackets can be embroidered with patches of the house’s lexicon of symbols (king snakes, flowers, bees, et al.). Not limited to just the exterior, the linings of your jackets and trouser waistbands can also have your personal touch by way of printed silk foulards.

But if less-is-more is your preferred approach, you can always opt to have simple initials monogrammed discreetly on the cuff, collar, or anywhere, really. Whichever way you want to make it your own, the possibilities are endless.
Gucci DIY personalisation services are exclusive to Gucci’s Ion Orchard boutique from 17 November – 7 December.
