There’s something about Nicolas Ghesquière’s designs that feel like we’re witnessing fashion from a near future storm down the runway. Femininity, when moulded by the Parisian creative director, becomes both charged and soft, provocative and closed. The Louis Vuitton SS17 line is his most telling foray into that territory.
Taking cues from the essence of a Parisienne, the collection is equal parts sporty, professional, casual and packed full with Ghesquière’s unorthodox hints. What makes the range all the better is the fact that eight pieces exclusive to Singapore are available at its Ngee Ann City boutique.
The Louis Vuitton SS17 range is reinterpreted in cobalt and silver hues just for our local LV lovers. They span a cobalt graphic T-shirt with mascaron ornaments, a two-toned peplum blouse, black and silver python boots, and a printed shawl that gives off an optical illusion. For jewellery, the Paure Pétale selection is inspired by rounded, metallic teardrops — curvy, beautiful, but also stunningly edgy.
