Manolo Blahnik opens first standalone Singapore boutique at Marina Bay Sands

Long before Carrie Bradshaw wore her iconic blue Manolo Blahniks for her wedding on Sex and the City, the famed shoemaker had been creating haute footwear for powerful women around the world for decades. This month, fans of the designer can look forward to shopping his lust-worthy stilettos and slippers at the first standalone Manolo Blahnik store in Singapore.

Manolo Blahnik’s boutique in Marina Bay Sands is the brand’s first and only store in Singapore.

The space in Marina Bay Sands was designed by Nick Leith-Smith, the same architect who has overseen all of Blahnik’s brick-and-mortar projects. Leith-Smith and Blahnik drew inspiration from the cultural and contemporary architecture of Singapore when designing the boutique. The floor boasts colonial-styled monochromatic tiles, with woody elements giving it a more earthy vibe. Sharp corners and matte-black frames reflect the modernity of the shopping haven it is in.

“Marina Bay Sands is one of the most iconic and recognised places in Singapore,” said Kristina Blahnik, CEO of the Manolo Blahnik brand. “It has been at the forefront of uniquely combining innovative architecture, luxury shopping and leisure so I am very excited that now Manolo Blahnik will be part of this special concept.”
