The week post-fashion month is usually one spent in a drunken haze, with editors finally unpacking their suitcases and celebrities going back to 18-hour days on set. Meanwhile, we’re here eager to see what’s next, and thankfully the fashion gods deliver.

Hot off the press is the announcement of next year’s Met Gala theme, where it’ll take on all-things-campy. Former gala co-chair Rihanna also just stopped by our shores last week to celebrate the anniversary of her blockbuster makeup line, Fenty Beauty. The Met Gala 2019 will celebrate camp with Gucci and Gaga

This year’s religiously-themed Met Gala was billed as one of the best red carpets, and the accompanying exhibition was the most visited in the history for the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In an attempt to top that, curators Andrew Bolton and Wendy Yu are basing next year’s theme off Susan Sontag’s iconic 1964 essay, “Notes on ‘Camp'”. “Camp has become increasingly more mainstream in its pluralities—political camp, queer camp, Pop camp, the conflation of high and low, the idea that there is no such thing as originality,” Bolton said to Vogue.

For the biggest night in fashion, Gucci, Lady Gaga, Harry Styles, and Serena Williams will be co-chairing the gala event with Anna Wintour. This group of icons are very well the modern day definition of camp. Alessandro Sartori with his overtly ostentatious clothes and Gaga and her transformational prowess will probably command most of the evening as they’re decked out in their own versions of camp.

As Beyonce’s On The Run II tour with Jay-Z came to a close after four months on the road, the superstar knew she had to pull out all the stops for the last night. Her stage was both a platform to showcase her raw talent and display her celebrity designer friends creations. During her performance of Resentment, she came out in that iconic ombre neon gown that we just saw on the Off-White SS19 ‘Track and Field’ runway.

It’s ruffled yet sport-chic silhouette made for an instant social media sensation. But it did look like a familiar Giambattista Valli gown for his FW18 haute couture collection. Was it a homage to the Italian designer, or was it pure coincidence? Only Virgil would know.

Rihanna made a surprise appearance in Singapore at Sephora

All it took to spark a frenzy in Singapore was a simple Instagram story from Rihanna. “Surprise Singapore! I’m [here]!” was the gist of it, and before long hundreds were lined up at Sephora’s ION Orchard flagship store. The pop star made a pit stop here in our tropical country to celebrate Fenty Beauty’s anniversary, and it wasn’t just a simple hi-and-bye.

The vibrant, hot pink dress from Cushnie’s SS19 collection left little to the imagination as she braved the throngs of fans who were straining for a glimpse of Rihanna. Some beauty insiders were also privileged enough to be treated to a makeup session with the Barbadian beauty wielding the brushes and palettes.

Cara Delevingne proves she’s more than just a pretty face for Burberry’s new fragrance campaign

Cara Delevingne is a name synonymous with British fashion and style. After conquering both the catwalk and our glossies since she propelled to fame (courtesy of Christopher Bailey), she has since dabbled in many other mediums. Now, she’s lending her vocals for Burberry’s latest fragrance campaign for Burberry Her, covering “Maybe It’s Because I’m a Londoner” in a husky rendition.

“The thing I love about the London attitude is that it’s so bold – people are not afraid to say what they think. This is the place where people change things,” says Delevingne along with the campaign. It’s such a fitting campaign for her to take on, seeing as despite how Burberry has changed creative directors since (ICYMI, Riccardo Tisci has taken over), the face of Burberry is now more than just a face — it’s a voice, too.

The first HYPEFEST saw the most expensive photobooth ever

The inaugural HYPEFEST was the culmination of all things street. Sneakerheads and hypebeasts including Marc Jacobs and Colette’s Sarah Andelman were all present to soak in the “hype” culture after Hypebeast founder Kevin Ma waived all ticket costs.

While the stars of the show (read: Off-White & Rimowa’s luggage collection) was buzzed about, it was Moncler & Palm Angel’s booth that got the most street cred. The collaboration covered a Lamborghini Huracan with crisp $100 bills in what might be the most expensive photo booth ever. This project was no coincidence – Palm Angel’s CEO Francesco Ragazzi has been working at Moncler for over a decade, and this was also a part of Moncler’s Genius collections.
