Ongoing till 13 September, New York Fashion Week Spring 2018 is in full swing. Despite fashion industry critics questioning the Big Apple’s relevancy following the decampment of Rodarte, Proenza Schouler, Joseph Altuzarra, and Thom Browne to Paris, the festivity once again proved its worth as fashion month’s kickoff capital.
There’s the do-no-wrong Raf Simons proffering his take on dystopian Americana for his second Calvin Klein show — but stealing his show was Kaia Gerber, daughter of ’90s supermodel Cindy Crawford, making her first-ever runway debut. The 16-year-old also opened the show for Alexander Wang’s #WangFest street show, setting herself up for a meteoric modelling career that might just parallel Kendall Jenner’s in 2014.
Then there’s also bad gal Rihanna. Moving her Fenty Puma show back to the concrete jungle after showing two seasons in Paris, the creative director upped the ante on showmanship with a series of motocross stunts across a set of pink dunes as models sauntered around.
From Alexander Wang’s supermodel-infested #WangFest to Kendall Jenner’s official status as a fashion icon, here are the best Instagram posts of New York Fashion Week Spring 2018 you might have missed.
