When the dress code says Smart Casual, we tend to immediately reach for a pair of denim jeans and a collared shirt, or even a polo T-shirt. Opt for a short-suit instead. It’s time to get out of your comfort zone and try something out of the norm, and stand amongst your peers.
Contrary to popular belief, your short-suit ensemble doesn’t always have to be all matchy-matchy. It can consist of clothing you probably already own. Think a tweed blazer (a black one’s fine too), crisp white button-down shirt, white derby shoes, and longer-length shorts. Sounds easy, huh?
Now, here’s how to put them together with a couple of interesting add-ons. So, the next time an invite says Smart Casual, you know what to do.
Ps. You can even mix and match your wardrobe pieces into various short-suit options.
