Store explore: Fendi reveals its new Ion Orchard boutique and the Fendi Kiosk pop-up

Another year, another store. Six months after its Ngee Ann City store revamp, Italian luxury brand Fendi opens the doors to its latest retail addition at Ion Orchard. The new boutique carries women and men’s ready-to-wear and accessories. It’s also the first Orchard Road store to have a dedicated area showcasing the complete men’s universe collection, including shoes and leather goods.

A room lacquered in earthy tones and pale greys along with rows of classic handbags, small leather goods and jewellery, welcome you into the space. Further in, art pieces and furniture crafted by renowned designers are interspersed with the house’s offerings.

French design maestro Thierry Lemaire’s curved, sky blue console mingles in the leather goods section, while a forest green velvet armchair piece and a marble coffee table with an earring-inspired frame dreamed up by Design Miami’s Cristina Celestino interlope in the women’s ready-to-wear corner.

Here’s what makes the store’s opening special. Right across the boutique, a little octagonal hut sits right in the centre of the shopping mall’s ground floor atrium. If a recent trip to Rome pops into your mind, that’s because its dark green facade is reminiscent of the traditional Roman newsstands that are ubiquitous staples of the country’s piazzas. Introducing: The Fendi Kiosk.

The travelling pop-up lands in Asia, with Singapore as one of its three stops. Starting from today till 18 February, the ephemeral space will stock fresh Spring/Summer 2018 pieces such as bag charms, small leather goods, sunglasses and graphic tees.

The cherry on top? A Singapore-exclusive Mini Peekaboo bag in velvet with tapestry weaves and the house’s iconic whip stitch detailing. With just six pieces available (retailing at S$10,100), swing by the Fendi Kiosk, stat, to get your hands on the special piece.

The Fendi Kiosk will run at Ion Orchard Atrium, right across the new Fendi boutique, until 18 February.
