London Fashion Week Men’s (LFWM) customarily marks the beginning of a 3-week-long itinerary: one that sees thousands of international buyers, journalists and insiders descend upon Fortress Europa for a showcase of the latest in continental menswear. The British S/S 2020 shows got off to a rip-roaring start, proving (once again) to be a platform for woke, nostalgic, semi-classic design — right at home in the thick of East London’s sprawling Truman Brewery complex.
Out on the pavement, there were plenty of indications — more so than in previous years — that a “cut-up” aesthetic is now in full effect. Attendees mixed streetwear, suiting, workwear and couture with refreshing results — proving the increasingly blurry line between such sub-cultures is to the benefit of all mankind (see what we did there?). But don’t take our word for it: check out some of the best street styles from LFWM below. For the more classically inclined among you, remember to check in next week as we recap our favourite looks from the biannual sartorial scene at Pitti Uomo.
