As fashion month comes to a crescendo in Paris, all eyes are turning to the storied houses. Maria Grazia Chiuri, formerly of Valentino, kick started the week at Dior with a graceful, dance-inspired collection. Come Sunday, it would be her former creative partner Pierpaolo Piccioli’s go to woo the fashion crowd at Valentino’s Spring/Summer 2019 presentation.

Teasers have started appearing on the brand’s social platforms with one cryptic message: “Freedom is not escape but presence.” What would this mean for the clothes Piccoli’s sending down the runway? Is it going to bear a similar theme to Valentino’s SS19 menswear collection which combined the viral forces of streetwear and the haute, refined elements of couture? Whatever he eventually chooses to go with, we know that it would be a display of elegant femininity expressing the ethos of freedom.

The Valentino Spring/Summer 2019 show starts at 11pm Singapore time on 30 September, Sunday. Follow the latest updates on the show via their Twitter and Instagram profiles and through the #ValentinoSS19 hashtag.
