Tonight, Riccardo Tisci will premier his much-anticipated debut collection for Burberry in London. Ever since his appointment as the house’s chief creative officer was revealed back in March, the designer has been trailing breadcrumbs as to what the new chapter under his edict will be like. A custom tour look for Beyoncé; the new Peter Saville-designed logo and monogram; the fur-free announcement; and most recently, the surprise drop of his first design: a t-shirt bearing the house’s new “TB” logo (the initials to Thomas Burberry, the company’s founder) that was sold for only 24 hours on Instagram.
Following Tisci’s Burberry Spring 2019 show, the 24-hour drop series will continue with the B Series, a limited edition capsule comprised of selected men’s and women’s pieces. Fresh off the runway, this will be up for grabs starting from 18 September, 2:30am Singapore time. Though everything else is still largely kept under wraps, Business of Fashion recently reported that Tisci’s “streetwear-inflected” teasers are merely the merch tip of the bigger picture that’s allegedly “more high-end luxury fashion”. The Burberry Spring 2019 show starts at 12:00am Singapore time on 18 September. The B Series collection will be available exclusively via Instagram and WeChat from 12:30am Singapore time on 18 September. Its flagship store at 121 Regent Street will be the only physical outpost in the world to carry the B Series collection.
