This season, the French luxury fashion brand will be showing in Athens, the Greek city that’s rich with history and culture. It’s a complete change of scenery from the coastal region of Puglia, which sits on the south of Italy and served as the backdrop of the Maison’s Cruise 2021 collection. Last year, Dior treated us to beautiful lights displays with powerful slogans, as well as ethereal gowns and intricate bags that celebrated the traditional crafts of Puglia.
As is consistent with her longtime vision for Dior, creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri is once again championing femininity and femininity, this time through the lens of Greek goddesses.
As part of her “journey of the goddesses” research trip around Greece, Chiuri has visited the ruins of Akrotiri on the island of Santorini, the Heraklion Archeological Museum on Crete, as well as Delphi to inspire her latest womenswear collection.
How exactly the ancient artefacts and temples has been woven into the collection will be revealed tomorrow, 18 June through the livestream below. Be sure to tune in at 2.00am (Singapore time) to catch the Dior Cruise 2022 fashion show once it premieres, live from Greece.
