The upcoming collection has “an underlying boldness to it that’s felt when the garment is worn,” shared Jisoo in a statement. “I myself may seem calm on the exterior, but as an artist I exert a more powerful attitude on stage.”
Dior creative directive Maria Grazia Chiuri has also revealed that the her newest offerings are a reflection of fairytales — something that will surely excite fans of Dior’s more whimsical styles, like the tarot-inspired creations we saw at Paris Couture Week.
The setting of the show is also fit for a fairytale; it will be held at the Galerie des Glaces at the Château de Versailles, which was not only heavily referenced by Christian Dior, but connects back to the protofeminist fairy stories that Chiuri has explored for the collection. Adding even more magic to the grand venue is an installation of opaque mirrors by artist Silvia Giambrone, dubbed “The Hall of Shadows”.
You can get a look at all of it tonight, once Dior’s Fall/Winter 2021 show goes live at Paris Fashion Week at 9.30pm (Singapore time) through the livestream below.
