Once again, due to the restrictions of the pandemic, the French luxury fashion brand is trading a physical fashion show for a film by Cyril Teste. The French playwright and director has been an Hermes collaborator for a while now, having directed the brand’s menswear shows for the last two seasons.
For Fall/Winter 2021, Teste oversaw a special digital showcase that brought Hermes’ collection to life. The livestream screen was split into seven sections offering various angles of the fashion show, allowing viewers to choose how they experienced the event while it took place.
It’s likely that Hermes will revive the interactive format again when it unveils its latest menswear collection in Paris. As for the collection itself, we can count on Hermes’ menswear artistic director Véronique Nichanian to deliver yet another wardrobe of chic, luxurious and easy staples for the modern man.
Last season, the fashion designer took loungewear to a new level through smart ensembles of blazers and drawstring pants. That combination of informal and formal dress codes was seen all throughout the menswear shows of the season, and unsurprisingly so given that many countries were still in lockdown. Nichanian, however, executed it without sacrificing the inherent elegance of the Hermes man.
And she’ll likely do so again for her latest offerings, as was teased on Hermes’ Instagram. The Hermes Spring/Summer 2022 menswear show goes live on Saturday, 26 June at Paris Fashion Week. You can catch the whole thing right here, through the livestream below, when it premieres on 8.00pm (Singapore time).
