I’ve always loved a nice cross-body bag, but I don’t think I’ve ever appreciated them as much as I do now, as I venture into my new role as a first time mum. Taking a newborn baby out and about is no easy task, and while I have my big Longchamp Le Pliage nylon bag from my high school days (it’s just so trustworthy, isn’t it?) stored at the bottom of the stroller stuffed with milk bottles, freezer bag with pumped milk, diapers, spare baby clothes and all — it’s good to have a cross-body bag like this one from Dior, which offers just enough room to keep my wallet, mobile phone, and hand sanitiser close for easy access and, at the same time, allows me to move around (and carry a baby) with ease. —Cindie Chan, Style Editor
As one of the world’s top jewellers to land at the legendary Place Vendôme well over a century ago, Boucheron’s Quatre collection has become the brand’s most iconic line since its launch in 2004, highlighting different patterns found at the luxury Parisian square that celebrate the Maison’s rich heritage in a unique and timeless form. This pendant necklace (HK$23,900) from Quatre’s new Red Edition creations is definitely taking the line’s signature aesthetics to the next level, featuring the introduction of red ceramic that offers just the right amount of positivity with a pop of a powerful, bright hue to set the perfect tone for the new year. —CC
Anybody who has had the (dis)pleasure of spending even half an hour in my company will probably have heard the name “Antonio Ciongoli” uttered several times. An alumnus of the now-shuttered Rugby Ralph Lauren, Ciongoli went on to become the creative director of Eidos Napoli in 2013 — a diffusion of famed suit maker Isaia Napoli. For five glorious years, Ciongoli steered Eidos through a course of eclectic creative phases. Each of them were increasingly original and interesting, though I have a soft spot for the more obvious collections (i.e. any which were photographed and staged in Italy).
Sadly, Ciongoli is no longer with the brand but this officer’s coat (approx HK$8,789) — a monstrous double-breasted number preceded by pendulous lapels and a hand-padded collar — is a reminder of his influence. Part of Ciongoli’s final collection for Eidos, it perfectly encapsulates what makes the Italian-American designer’s creations so effortlessly stylish. Obviously, you can wear it with a sport coat and flannels (size up if you do!) but the large-scale pattern really lends itself well to mix-ups with sportswear and haute couture. —Randy Lai, Staff Writer
Maison Margiela’s Neo-Digital Native (NDN) bag (HK$21,060) is John Galliano’s take on creating a truly modern accessory. The bag first made its debut for the brand’s Fall Winter 2018 show, and has since been developed for the company’s latest Spring Summer 2019 runway collection. The product eschews gender-specific design tropes, instead opting for the lifestyle of the 21st century nomad. This is evidenced by its modular design – the long cotton web handle can be modified and worn as a backpack, and the bridle leather handle can transform into a Maison Margiela belt. In other words, the NDN adapts seamlessly to the lifestyle of every wearer. This modernity is contrasted with the bag’s nostalgic and luxurious tactility. Constructed in either lightweight deer leather or trench fabric, the NDN is a bag that needs to be touched to understand the immeasurable pleasure that it brings. Available in

Bursting with candy pastel inspiration for the spring season, Dior’s jovial makeup collection for this first quarter of 2019 really takes us out of the darkness and gloom of wintertime. To keep things simple and light while playing with colour, I’m really liking the new Dior Addict Lip Maximizer (HK$270). With a new formula in three new shades, the gloss imparts a holographic shimmer as well as giving off a minty, tingly plumping effect that feels super soothing on dry lips.
