Like all of its previous editions, yesterday’s Grammy Awards ceremony didn’t hold back on the glitz and glamour. The music world’s finest were out in full force and dressed to the nines for the red carpet, and chart-topping artistes the likes of Sza, Bruno Mars, Sam Smith and Kendrick Lamar brought down the house with their rousing performances.

What made the Grammys 2018 particularly significant, though, was the white rose initiative embraced by many of those in attendance. From Camilla Cabello to Pink and Cardi B, celebrities were seen incorporating the flower into their outfits to show their support for the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements. And, of course, who could forget Kesha’s emotional and powerful performance of Praying — an apt anthem dedicated to these same causes?

This year’s Grammys ceremony did have some problematic aspects though: Save for Alessia Cara bagging the Best New Artist accolade, most of the major awards went to men. Then there was the fiasco of Lorde being snubbed — she was the only Album of the Year nominee who wasn’t invited to perform live. We’re keeping our hopes up that next year’s results will showcase a more balanced representation of both genders.

On a lighter note, the Grammys 2018 sure didn’t disappoint when it came to style. Prominent names such as Beyonce and Lady Gaga showed up in beautiful outfits jazzed up with sparkling earrings, while dapper gents John Legend and Common kept it classy with cufflinks and elegant jewels. Particularly popular was US jeweller Lorraine Schwartz’s designs, which were sported by many of the ladies. Here are 8 of our favourite jewellery looks from the star-studded ceremony.

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend

Chrissy Teigen flaunted her baby bump in a slinky sequinned dress, which she paired with Lorraine Schwartz’s black and white interlocking diamond earrings, and Ofira Jewels’ signature black diamond bands. Meanwhile, hubby John Legend looked dapper in a black Burberry suit and Chopard cufflinks.

Lady Gaga

Ahead of her incredible performance of Joanne and Million Reasons onstage, Lady Gaga made an impression on the red carpet with her stunning Armani Prive gown and over 300 carats of Lorraine Schwartz black diamonds. The latter included chandelier earrings and statement rings.

Tyler the Creator

Tyler the Creator kept his accessories pared back by opting for a simple bracelet and necklace, so they wouldn’t steal attention away from his quirky get-up of a white Russian ushanka, blue coat, and Louis Vuitton scarf.

Heidi Klum

Supermodel Heidi Klum stood out from the crowd in her sexy lingerie-esque, see-through outfit accented with a pair of massive black jade and diamond chandelier earrings from Lorraine Schwartz. Adorning her fingers were a black diamond ring designed by Schwartz, and multiple black diamond bands by Ofira Jewels.

Queen Bey punctuated her all-black ensemble with a striking pair of custom-made Lorraine Schwartz 70-carat diamond earrings, which were fashioned in titanium and brushed past her shoulders for dramatic effect. She also wore several diamond rings designed by Schwartz. Her entire suite of jewellery is valued at a jaw-dropping US$6.8 million (S$8.94 million).

Rapper Common looked dapper in a velvet suit adorned with Tiffany & Co diamond shirt studs, and platinum and diamond cufflinks. He’s evidently a fan of the brand — wrapped around his wrist was a Tiffany CT60 dual time 40 mm watch in stainless steel.

Donald Glover

Also jumping on the Tiffany & Co bandwagon was actor and rapper Donald Glover, who incorporated the jeweller’s bracelet and ring into his eye-catching, all-white ensemble.

Janelle Monae

Janelle Monae looked glamorous in her Jennifer Fisher ear cuffs and silver and gold cage rings, which added bling to her already flamboyant, vividly hued Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo.
