Italian luxury maison Bulgari has just launched its newest high jewellery collection, created in collaboration with Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the ruling United Arab Emirates Royal Family.

The Jannah Collection consists of 26 jewellery designs and two timepieces centring on a five-petal flower — a design inspired by Bulgari’s creative director of high Jewellery Lucia Silvestri’s many visits to the Abu Dhabi Grand Mosque.

There, five-petal flowers adorn the majestic marble ceilings and found an artistic compatriot with Bulgari’s design imagination. The Italian label has after all, released floral brooches from as far back as 1950.

Standouts from the Jannah Collection include the poncho necklace where 41 round emeralds and 46 rubellite beads rest elegantly on the wearer’s collarbone. This required 1200 to 1500 hours of work by a single jewellery artisan to craft.

For classic Arab-inspired pieces, turn to the ring bracelets which are constructed to be equal parts delicate yet durable or one of the two tiaras, which is a modern interpretation of a traditional Middle Eastern tiara.

These beautiful pieces were created in celebration between Italy and the the United Arab Emirates.

“There are a lot of similarities between Italian and Middle Eastern women…the warmth, generous hospitality, and sense of humour,” said Silvestri. “Whether I’m in Italy or the Middle East, I feel at home.”
