Which is why we’ve rounded up 5 of the latest Father’s Day watches to cater to any dad, regardless of his interest, personality or lifestyle. From the highly-practical Breitling Colt Skyracer to the travel-friendly world timer by Jaeger-LeCoultre, these watches will definitely put a smile on his face, and are a deserving tribute to these important men in your lives.

IWC Big Pilot’s watch

The Big Pilot has been a staple in the brand since its introduction in 1940, and the latest one is a tribute to the model that started it all. The triangular index is once again positioned just below the 12 o’clock index, the numerals are made bolder, and the five-minute indices are just a sliver slimmer. Dads who aren’t interested in frills but want something unique will appreciate the black calfskin strap that comes with this model, complete with silver rivets that give it a subtle rocker look.

Breitling Colt Skyracer

Breitling’s brand new model sees a marriage of its new carbon case material with a relatively straightforward dial, and a highly-accurate thermocompensated calibre 74 SuperQuartz movement, which has a battery life of a remarkable eight years and is also COSC Chronometer certified. Breitling has, after all, been servicing a market of aviation and military professionals for a while now, and high accuracy and reliability have been key considerations in its timepieces. Though a bigger 45mm wide, the watch is still six times lighter than steel and is water-resistant to 100 metres with a promised shock-resistant case. This is a watch built for dads who value practicality over all else.

Patek Philippe Ref. 5168G 20th Anniversary Aquanaut

Swopping steel for white gold and black for blue, the new Aquanaut by Patek Philippe celebrates two decades of staying in vogue even though it’s a sports watch. This striking 42.2mm version might be slightly larger, but the proportion and styling remain true to is namesake legend, and the blue gradient dial only serves to highlight its contrasting details. The same calibre 324C powers the timepiece, making this the perfect accessory for dads who are always on-the-go.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Geophysic Tourbillon Universal Time Watch

This is one for the dads who jet set around the world for business. The first world time watch with a flying tourbillon, the new Geophysic world timer features Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Gyrolab balance-equipped tourbillon that reduces air friction, displayed prominently on the 4:30 spot, within the three-dimensional convex world map. The waters see wave-like guilloche decorations, a touch of artisan craftsmanship by the storied watchmaker. On the dial, an outer ring features 24 cities and a secondary ring outside sees a 24-hour indication for easy timekeeping no matter the destination.

Chopard Mille Miglia Classic XL 90th Anniversary

The historic and rather quirky races of Mille Miglia celebrate the best of classic cars, and this year, its 90th anniversary too. Of course as longstanding official timekeeper, Chopard will honour the occasion with a few new chronograph models, more notably the Classic XL 90th Anniversary Limited Edition, which features the famous L.U.C. movement. Taking design cues from the vintage cars in the race, this watch contains the prestigious hand-wound flyback chronograph L.U.C. 03.07-L which can be see though the 46mm caseback. Encasing the timepiece is an 18k rose gold case, with a calfskin, vintage-treated leather strap that will satisfy the car enthusiast in every dad.
