5 new Phuket resorts for a beach getaway in 2017

Boasting sandy beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters and towering limestone karsts, Phuket is an increasingly popular destination amongst Singaporeans for a quick beach getaway. Especially with its new airport terminal completed last year to cater to its massive tourism boom — increasing airport capacity to 12.5 million passengers a year from its previous capacity of 6.5 million — more airlines are offering flights to Phuket from Singapore. Singapore Airlines alone has daily flights to the tropical island.

It is no surprise then, that this year sees many new resort openings in Phuket, with hotel chains finding ways to inject luxury into the beautiful province. Visitors to Phuket are now spoilt with options when choosing where to stay. Boutique hotels, beach villas, private island resorts — the possibilities are almost endless. There really is no better time to head to the sunny Thai island.

If you’re not sure where to go the next long weekend (the Hari Raya Puasa holiday), we’ve got you covered. From Hong Kong-based Rosewood Hotels & Resorts’ first foray into Southeast Asia to the ultra-luxurious Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay, here are the best new resorts to check out in Phuket in 2017.
