There is no better place to enjoy a pina colada than on a pristine beach in a tropical paradise. While lazing by the pool of a swanky resort sounds like the ideal getaway, sometimes enjoying the beats and mingling with the hip crowd at beach bars makes the ultimate vacation.
Sure, the chic beach bars of Hawaii, Ibiza or the Caribbean may be tempting, but they are also a very long flight away — with many airport transfers, may we add. But we don’t have to look way beyond our horizons. Southeast Asia, with its tropical climate and picture-perfect beaches, is home to many beach bars that are just as stylish, if not more so.
Besides refreshing cocktails, these beach bars serve a smorgasbord of delicious cuisine ranging from Hawaiian grub to Mediterranean-inspired fare — which means you don’t have to embark on a long-haul flight to a far-flung destination, in search of the quintessential exotic island experience. With a solid repertoire of drinks, delectable food, and a sophisticated setting with upbeat tunes and glorious views of the coastline, you’re pretty much set for an unforgettable summer vacation.
From the lush islands of Thailand to sunny Singapore, here are our favourite beach bars that boast the best tipples and renowned DJ sets. Grab your passport, favourite swimwear, sunscreen, and enjoy your beach holiday.
