These hotels in Milan are favoured by insiders and the Fashion Week crowd

Most would consider Milan to be Italy’s capital of fashion and design. It is the birthplace of Prada, after all; with the fashion house found on almost every street corner, along with other other Italian heavyweights like Armani, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, and Fendi.

The cobbled streets of the city attract some of the most prominent names in the fashion industry, especially with the ongoing Milan Fashion Week, which is taking place from 19 to 25 September. It’s not a rare sight, then, to see international models, fashion designers, and some celebrities walking along the cobbled streets of the city — whether they’re heading to shows, after-parties, or just drinks at some of Milan’s trendiest hotels.

Here, we round up the best hotels in the fashion capital favoured by the Fashion Week crowd. From fashion houses making forays into hospitality to 18th-century mansions that have seen some of the most important events in history, these are the hotels to check into (or have a drink at) the next time you’re in Milan.

Palazzo Parigi Hotel & Grand Spa

Palazzo Parigi Hotel & Grand Spa, part of Leading Hotels of the World, is located on the site of a circa 1600s palazzo in the heart of Milan’s fashion district. The building was home to a prestigious Italian bank in previous years and has been refurbished by owner/architect Paola Giambelli with interiors by Pierre-Yves Rochon, inspired by Milan and Paris.

The property is home to 65 spacious guest rooms and 33 suites, all individually designed and distinctively appointed with hand-selected artwork, marble, rich woods and luxurious fabrics. Each room has a window or private terrace that looks out to views of the city or the hotel’s century-old private garden.

The Bulgari Hotel Milano

It’s not easy to be regarded as the chicest hotel in Milan. Yet, the Bulgari Hotel Milano pulls it off. The hotel, located on a private road between Via Montenapoleone, Via della Spiga, La Scala and the Accademia di Brera, combines contemporary design with top-notch hospitality and comfort in Milan’s most stylish precinct.

The Bulgari Hotel Milano’s interiors were dreamt up by Milan’s interior design hero Antonio Citterio. Look beneath its austere facade, and you’ll find beautiful courtyards and green spaces along with tastefully-refurbished guest rooms and suites located in a renovated 18th-century Milanese palazzo.
