Cambodia’s luxury footprint is set to expand with another Shinta Mani hotel

World-renowned resorts designer Bill Bensley is behind some of the most iconic hotels around the region, such as Park Hyatt Siem Reap, the St. Regis Bali and Four Seasons Tented Camp in Chiang Rai — each decked in his signature design language.

Last year, the designer opened his first Bensley Collection property, Shinta Mani Angkor, an enclave of 10 luxurious Khmer inspired pool villas in Siem Reap. The resort was so well-received that he has decided to open yet another property under his eponymous collection this December.

Shinta Mani Wild.

Called Shinta Mani Wild, the adults-only property is nestled in Cambodia’s South Cardamom National Park Pristine Wildlife Corridor, located a three-hour drive south-west from Phnom Penh.

Guests will arrive at the gate lounge by road or helicopter. From there, there are two ways to get to Shinta Mani Wild. Adventurous souls can zip line 380 metres over rivers and waterfalls into the Landing Zone Bar, where they will be met by renowned Bensley Butlers who will welcome them with refreshments. Alternatively, guests can also take a short four-wheel jeep drive from the gate entrance.

The resort will be set in a national park.

There are 14 one-bedroom and one two-bedroom tents in the compound, each boasting its own en-suite bathroom and viewing deck. The luxurious tents have been meticulously designed to invoke the grandeur of what it would have been like to be on a luxury safari in the jungles of Cambodia with Jacky O’ who travelled throughout the Kingdom with King Sihanouk in 1967, all beautifully decorated with Asian artefacts, local woods and hand-crafted fabrics.

Guests can wine and dine in a total of three food and beverage establishments in the property, including the Waterfall Restaurant, Landing Zone Bar, and Boulders Spa (which feature chemical-free products by Bensley’s Khmer Tonics.

A range of adventures will be available at the property.

The property will also offer a range of adventures, from exploring the waterways of Southeast Asia’s last wild estuarine ecosystem aboard a custom Bensley designed fully equipped expedition boat complete with kayaks, to accompanying anti-poaching rangers and researchers as they check camera points and study the wild forests and their inhabitants.

Shinta Mani Wild – Bensley Collection will open on 21 December 2018. Rates will start from USD 1900 (S$2,622) per night, inclusive of all food and beverage, activities, spa treatments and land transfers from Phnom Penh or Sihanoukville airports. A minimum 3-night stay is required.
